Atlantis (Sa Pedrera)

Atlantis, known locally as Sa Pedrera, is a hidden cove of carved sandstone below the cliffs near Es Vedra. It was once a quarry that supplied stone for the walls of Dalt Vila, and the cutting left behind a surreal landscape of stepped terraces, natural rock pools and faces carved by passing visitors over the years. Reaching it means a steep scramble down a rough path or an approach by boat, and the reward is one of the island's most otherworldly and least crowded spots.
